Coronavirus: The surveillance

Shortly before the next “lockdown” I would like to share some basic information:

Last night I phoned a friend who told me that he had recently done a Covid antigen test in Marienapotheke pharmacy in Vienna. A short time after that phone call, I went to Facebook. And what did I find there?

An advertisement of Marienapotheke pharmacy, “sponsored” on Facebook

When I drew attention to this phenomenon of “surveillance capitalism” 25 years ago, I was declared crazy, paranoid and sick in my surroundings in Vienna. Today we face another problem: surveillance capitalism is a recognized fact. Big Tech, Google, and Facebook do not only know what we’ve done, they already know what we’re going to do. Big Tech, Google, and Facebook almost certainly know what we’re about to do before we even know ourselves. And the more precisely they can calculate this, the more they can influence it.

My friends in the east accept this phenomenon as the price of freedom from state oppression, my friends in the west do not even see the problem to this day.

My own difficulty hereby was, due to the “great eavesdropping” in Austria, that the surveillance of my person was extended to the state organs, including the most personal parts of my life. I was and still am monitored 24/7 not only by Big Tech but also by Deep State. Even if I have come to terms with it in the meantime, I do not want to impose such “total surveillance” on anyone else.

We should therefore do our utmost to ensure that a person’s privacy is protected from state control. Now, especially in times of Corona, and for all eternity.

Thank you.
