If so, who produces this carbon dioxide?

Carbon dioxide is produced by mammals when they consume energy – especially by humans.

If so, how can mammals consume less energy – especially humans?

Mammals can consume less energy by working less – especially humans.

If so, why should humans (and their machines) work less?

Humans (and their machines) should “work” as little as possible because “work” is the only cause of energy consumption.
(Work = Force x Distance)

If so, what is the alternative to this?

The alternative to this is the extinction of humans on planet earth.
