My dear grandchild!

My dear grandchild!

You are still young. You are my greatest hope.

This world will end. We will experience nuclear war and climate catastrophe. Both will be unstoppable. Both is unstoppable. Neither nuclear war nor climate catastrophe can be stopped. We screwed it up.

If you are one of those people who will have survived nuclear war, then you will have inherited a completely uninhabitable planet. Everything will be destroyed and you will only be able to survive with greatest difficulty. The living conditions will be as catastrophic as we can’t even imagine right now.

It doesn’t matter whether you live in Europe, or in Asia, or Africa, Australia, Oceania or in North, Central or South America. No matter where you live, the living conditions will be catastrophic. Nothing will be the same as it is now.

Forget it. Don’t look behind. Don’t look at who is to blame for this catastrophe. Look ahead! Look at how you can survive. Try to live in the moment. Try to enjoy every day. Try to master each day anew. And be thankful for every day you get to live in this world.

What’s the point? What is the goal? The goal is to survive each day. Each day survived is a day won. Make sure you get something to drink and to eat. And try to make friends. Try to befriend everyone else who also survived. Everything else ends in disaster. Everything else ends in nuclear war. Just like in the past. We screwed it up. Don’t screw it up again.

Most people didn’t see it coming. But it was foreseeable. The end of the world was in sight. And you survived. We left this world to you. We left this hell to you. We left you this desert.

Why?

Because we didn’t want to see it. We didn’t want to see our world end in catastrophe. We wanted to be right. We wanted to win. We were wrong. And we lost.

There is only one thing I want to tell you: be friends with everyone. Be friendly to everyone you meet. Make peace with everyone. And be grateful for every day. We were not able to. You can now see the result, directly in front of your eyes.
